In a world where most of the birth and parenting resources, information, and narratives are based on heterosexual couples and experiences, Queer Mama is a fantastic resource for queer conception, pregnancy, and parenting.
Among my favorites from their YouTube channel is this video about being the non-carrying and non-nursing parent:
Also this one about being a queer family:
Aaaaand also this one where they update the predictions they made before their baby was born:
So, I think it's pretty obvious that I watch a lot of their videos.
I've been following Queer Mama for over a year through their videos covering their journey through conception, pregnancy, labor & birth, parenting, and politics. Not only have I found their videos informative to my work as a birth doula, but as an individual who identifies as queer and intends on parenting in the future it's been inspiring and affirming to follow the narrative of two queer parents navigating this world.
I hope you find as much joy and inspiration from their story as I have.
